King’s Jubilee is a youthful group of five members of Liberian descent who survived the gruesome civil war that engulfed Liberia in the early 90’s. The group has been in existence since 1992 but was restructured and re-birthed in 2000.Currently based in Accra, Ghana, the group is noted for its diverse creativity and skill in music composition and live performances. Another notable trait associated with the group is its rich and dynamic vocals that charge the atmosphere whenever they minister.
The type of gospel genre that defines King’s Jubilee’s music is a combination of R&B, contemporary praise and worship and African Rhythms, particularly Librarian and Ghanaian. Owing to their unique vocals, the group initially concentrated on ministrations that are presented in the accapella vein. However, in exploring the depth of talents they had, King’s Jubilee now incorporates various delivery styles into their ministrations.
The group has two albums to their credit; ‘Believe’ and the recent ‘Power of Praise’ (released in 2008). ‘Believe’ earned the group the needed recognition as the next big accapella group to come from Africa following the likes of Black Heritage and Alabaster Box. This album again presented the group with numerous opportunities to record jingles for most corporate organizations and collaboration works with other gospel artistes and groups.
King’s Jubilee’s ‘Power of Praise’ relays the level of maturity of the group currently and pours out the passion behind what the group does. With inspiring songs such as ‘Still I Believe’, ‘Thanks’, ‘Power of Praise’, ‘You are Lord’ and ‘Adom’ one is sure to experience an unusual touch of God and notice ‘sweet feeling’ of quality music – vocals and instrumentation wise.
King’s Jubilee has been blessed with many opportunities of collaboration works and jingles production for high-profile organizations, and has received recognition in Ghana and the world.
